Release news Naviate for Revit

Naviate Architecture May Release 2025.2

Release news for Naviate Architecture. Highlights include the two new features Room Finishes and Create Boundary Lines. The updates includes Curtain Wall Elevations, Door and Window Unique Identifiers and Drawings, changes for solving data conflicts and the What's New pop-up.

Changes for Solving Data Conflicts between projects

Update of data storages for some tools to avoid conflicts when opening multiple projects created by different versions.

When using some of the tools in the application, the saved data connected to the tool will be updated to solve a possible “Data Conflict” issue. The update happens automatically without any notification the first time you change project specific data in an affected tool.

If you have access to Naviate Accelerate you can use the new Update Schema tool to update all affected extensible storages in your project in one go.

Important Note: To ensure data integrity, it is crucial that all users working on the affected projects are using the latest version of the application.

What's New Pop-up

What's New dialog box is not shown by default at Revit/Naviate startup for new installs.

When installing Naviate applications for the first time or after a complete uninstall of Naviate, the What’s New dialog box is turned off by default. The What’s New dialog box will not show up when Revit/Naviate is started unless you manually have turned it on.

Note! If you update Naviate by running the .msi files without first uninstalling the previously installed Naviate applications, the previous setting for What’s New (default on) is kept.

You can still access What’s New from Help menu to read about the new and improved features in last installed release.

When doing scripted install you can control if the if the What’s New dialog box should show at startup or not using the WHATSNEW parameter as before.

NEW! Room Finishes

Transfer an element's Material parameters into a Room Finishes parameters in Revit.

With this new feature, you can transfer any element's material parameter into the room finish parameters in Revit (e.g. Ceiling Finish, Wall Finish, Floor Finish, & Base Finish). Additionally, you can include the total material area in the parameter and choose to write multiple element’s material layers if required.

Configure the settings in the Room Finishes Settings dialog before starting the tool. Parameters will be written as a Text parameter. Cladding walls in a room cannot be room-bounding, as they exclude walls or elements behind them from calculations. Only elements that are part of the room boundary will be considered.

NEW! Create Area Boundary Lines

Create and Update Area Boundary Lines using different Wall Types.

With this new feature, you can create Area Boundary Lines based on different Wall Types before placing Rooms in Area Plan. Lines are placed according to the Basic/Curtain Wall Functions (Interior, Exterior, Foundation, Retaining, Soffit, Core-shaft) and Placement Rules. You can also update Area Boundary Lines, ensuring all lines are recreated to reflect the latest wall changes. All lines will be created as unpinned Area Boundary Lines.

Curtain Wall Elevations

Create Curtain Wall Elevations using Elevation View type and add dimensions to all Curtain Wall types.

You can now create Curtain Wall Elevations using Elevation View Types. Additionally, if Dimensions are included, overall dimension lines will be correctly placed on all Curtain Wall Types.
